Laser Etching and Marking

The precision laser etching and marking services offered by Prime Products are capable of producing extremely sharp graphics on a variety of materials and coatings.

Our customers in the aerospace, medical and audio equipment industries use Prime Products’ laser etching and marking capabilities for illuminated graphics, plastic parts, painted parts, paint removal, anodize removal and parts marking.

Using our fiber lasers, we are able to produce the graphics on our illuminated products by etching away the dark opaque top coat while leaving intact the translucent white coat, which has been carefully applied to meet our customer’s lighting requirements. Laser etching is also used to produce graphics by removing paint or anodize to expose the underlying substrate. Our lasers are capable of producing a permanent mark in contrasting color on a wide variety of materials, including carbon and stainless steel, aluminum, acrylic, polycarbonate and silicone.

Our laser etching and marking equipment features an Ytterbium fiber laser, a 6″ diameter marking field, an indexing table for larger volume production runs, and a Y-axis laser head motion for part sizes up to 25″ x 16″. All product-holding fixtures are designed and built in-house.
